YWAM is a volunteer movement, where no single member within the organization receives a salary or remuneration. As YWAM missionaries, we are called to practice a life of dependence upon God for financial provision. This is accomplished primarily through the financial partnership of His people, the body of Christ, who believe in us and what we do. Read more about our passions and visions below.
YWAM Mendocino Coast is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible.
1How do I make a tax-deductible gift by check?
Make checks payable to YWAM. Do NOT put name of the individual(s) anywhere on the check.
On a separate note, designate the name of the individual(s) you’d like to support. You can also designate a project or the general fund.
Send to 30660 Navarro Ridge Rd, Albion CA 95410.
2Why are YWAM workers required to raise support?
THE VITALITY & SUSTAINABILITY OF RELATIONSHIP-BASED MISSIONS
The relationship-based missions model YWAM has adopted is invaluable — not only for financial support, but more importantly for the mutual partnerships, prayer, encouragement, and accountability that comes with it between missionaries and their supporters. As Loren Cunningham puts it, “The supporters will pray for me, because where they put their treasure, there their heart will be. Where their heart is, their prayer support will be. And then in turn they get the news out to their nieces, nephews, friends, relatives, sons, daughters, parents, and they might end up coming with YWAM and being part of the mission force.”
3Why don't YWAM workers receive any salary?
THE EXPONENTIAL GROWTH FROM DECENTRALIZATION
Since the beginning, our founders felt from the Lord that all YWAM works should be built on the principles of “living by faith” and “support-raising.” Had Loren and Darlene decided on a corporate model, with finances being funneled through one central headquarters five decades ago, YWAM probably would have remained relatively small with a significant portion of our income going to support the organization itself, rather than the missionaries on the field. Because no corporate office controls the flow of finances, YWAM has grown into the largest international, interdenominational missions organization in the world today.
