Welcome!
We are very happy that you’ll be staying with us on the Lord’s Land. We hope it will be a time of rest and refreshment. Here’s some information on how to get here as well as what to bring and expect.
Before Arrival
1Do I need to bring my own bedding and towels?
All beds will be covered with a mattress pad and all pillows with a pillow liner. Each bed will have an appropriately sized and sanitized sheet set enclosed in a muslin bag and a comforter. During this Covid season, we are asking our guests to make their own beds to limit human contact with your linens. You are welcome to bring your own linens if you prefer. Each cabin will have bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, bath mats, kitchen towels and potholders. However, you’ll need to bring your own towels for beach and recreational use. You’re also welcome to bring additional blankets for warmth if desired.
2Do I need to bring firewood?
Almost all of our cabins have wood burning stoves. Newspaper, kindling, matches and firewood will be provided in each cabin with a stove.
3Can I check in early or check out late?
If you wish to check out late on your date of departure, please make sure your request is known to us when you check in. We sometimes make allowance on a case-by-case basis if no one checks in on your departure date.
4Can I bring my pet?
We do not allow pets on the Lord’s Land. If you come with a pet, you may be subject to a $250 fine.
5Can I bring a bottle of wine to celebrate a special occasion?
We ask that no alcoholic beverages come onto the land. You can always order a glass at one of our local restaurants.
6What is the difference between a minimally equipped and fully equipped kitchen?
Fully Equipped Kitchens: One of each appropriately sized for PAX of cabin: pot, frying pan, casserole dish, cutting board, cheese grater, colander, mixing bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, mixing spoon, frying spatula, ladle, can opener, carrot peeler, cooking knife, paring knife, serving spoon.
Minimally Equipped Kitchens: Small frying pan, small pot, spatula, mixing spoon, cutting board, knife, can opener.
Every cabin is equipped with one glass, mug, plate, bowl, and set of cutlery sufficient for cabin PAX
After Arrival
1Can I smoke cigarettes on the Lord’s Land?
We allow smoking on the gravel parking lot near our office. We are very careful with fire hazards.
2Can I burn candles in my cabin?
We ask that you do not light candles in our cabins. They are all made of wood and an open flame is a fire hazard. We have oil lamps provided in each cabin in case of power outages in the winter.
3Can we use the grill and gazebo for a cookout?
You are very welcome to use our grill and gazebo but guests who rent Big House and large groups have priority. You may need to coordinate with their schedules. Please contact us to reserve. We also ask that guests clean up after themselves, take out trash and return everything back to how they were found.
4Can we use the Ballroom for a group meeting?
The Ballroom is available at no extra charge for meetings but must be reserved in advance.
5Does the Lord’s Land have internet?
We do have internet but unfortunately we cannot give out our password to guests. Our bandwidth is limited and too many devices will overwhelm the system. Many local coffee shops and cafes have internet available. The only cell provider that covers this area is AT&T, although Verizon is planning to cover our area soon as well.
6Can I check out books from your Library?
Please feel free to read our Library books but please do NOT take them with you or leave them in your cabin. Return them to the book return box.
7Can we feed kitchen scraps to the chickens and goats?
Please do not feed our animals. Some food is poisonous to them and can kill them. Please do not enter any of the animal pens, let the animals out, pick them up or chase after them. Feel free to greet them though!
8Can we park by our cabins?
There are parking spaces provided at the top of the trail for Raccoon, Prayer and Bear Cabins. Please do not park on any grass, only park at designated parking spaces and only drive on designated roads (see map for no passing areas).
9Are there places to hike on the Lord’s Land?
We have a prayer trail that goes around the land that you won’t want to miss. You cannot access other hiking trails from the land. Those of us who live here love walking up and down Navarro Ridge Road.
