What is DTS?
Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intensive 5-month course that focuses on personal transformation for effective service. It is a live-and-learn experience in the context of a working, worshipping mission community. Our motto, “To Know God and Make Him Known,” is both an individual quest and a corporate lifestyle.
DTS imparts the spiritual principles that are the basis of an intimate, victorious, and effective walk with God. Around the world, thousands have attended a DTS and experienced the life-changing impact of these revolutionary truths applied in a community of faith and obedience. DTS consists of a 3-month lecture phase, followed by a 2-month outreach phase.
Lecture Phase
The Lecture Phase begins in September 2009. Challenging messages from visiting and local teachers, small-group ministry, one-on-one discipleship, intercessory prayer, creative worship, and daily time alone with God are all part of the DTS schedule. DTS is a pilgrimage through sweet refreshing, deep brokenness, exhilarating intimacy with God, and a call to unconditional commitment.
Outreach Phase
The Evangelism and Outreach Phase will immediately follow the Lecture Phase. This 2-month cross-cultural service practicum gives students an opportunity to apply what they have learned during the lecture phase. Through drama, street evangelism, mercy ministries, and practical service, students participate in the unfinished task of world evangelization. In this way, they gain God’s heart for the nations, and move beyond their own familiar boundaries. Many look back on the practicum as the high point of their DTS experience.
