YWAM Mendocino Coast ~ About Us

We are YWAM Mendocino Coast! We are a community of passionate lovers of God dedicated to intimately knowing Him and making Him known in the world around us. We live on and manage the Lord’s Land in Albion, CA; a retreat center and former hippie commune that experienced a revival during the Jesus Movement.

Our goals are to see the presence of God manifest on the Mendocino coast and throughout northern California through transformational revival and to be a launching pad in the cause of frontier world missions; training young Christians to be passionate lovers of God and missionaries through our Discipleship Training School (DTS), as well as other hands-on YWAM training programs, and sending our staff and students to reach out to the nations of the earth.

We believe a radical, experiential Christian faith and a thoroughly Biblical worldview go hand-in-hand. We desire to combine these two emphases–Spirit & Truth–in our frontier missions philosophy.

We desire to honor the Lord’s Land legacy by continuing to offer our cabins to anyone desiring to get away to a beautiful place, seek the Lord in prayer and study, or just to relax with loved ones.

We invite you to contact us, or come and join us in our journey as we go deep in our love for and walk with the Lord and search the Scriptures for answers to the questions this generation is asking—answers that are lived authentically and expressed creatively.

Sincerely,

YWAM Mendocino Coast Staff

  3. Back in June of this year, my wife, Dena, and I had the pleasure of visiting The Lord’s Land for the 2nd time;  the 1st time being with our church in 2007 for a weekend retreat.  From the moment we stepped onto that ground, we knew we were once again on a very special piece of God’s real estate.  We just happened to show up just in time for pot luck dinner followed by worship & praise and a blessed evening of the word in ministry.  The speaker was John Childers and his wife, I believe, Valerie.  What a powerful message that still lives in our memories, to which we both refer often.  Also there were two young college students (Josh & Zachariah?) who were jogging up the California coast claiming the coast for Christ.  We still talk about it.  My wife and I frequently tell others, believers and non-believers alike of the goodness that exists there at Lord’s Land and encourage them to make a plan to visit for themselves. The staff is wonderful….easily enjoined….fun to be around….and great to pray and worship with.   We pray for The Lord’s Land continuing ministry and believe with all our hearts that it was God who 1st led us there, and that it is God who keeps bringing us back.  We will be staying again from 9/14-9/17 and are looking forward to it like two little kids with new bikes!

  4. Cindy, My wife & I fell in love with the Lord’s Land during our time discovering the Mendocino Coast back in the early 1990’s. We had the pleasure of stying there at the Lord’s Land on several occasions & found it to be our favorite spot to stay when we want to get away from life’s pressures & cares. We also love Gualala & Fort Ross & Elk & all the spots along Hwy 1 in that area. We have seen how your group has made some wonderful improvements to this wonderful place without spoiling it’s beauty and the richness of it’s character. We are excited to have another opportunity to stay there and are planning on reserving a cabin for 2 nights in the coming week or two. God is drawing us to a deeper place and we need to get away from the multitudes and draw closer to Him while breathing in the beauty’s of His creation too.

Thank you for providing this space to share our experiences & hope that others will make it a point to experience the Lord’s Land for themselves. It truly is a special place to stay.

    Sincerely,

    John & Tami Censoplano
