Volunteer With Us

Who can count the number of hands that have contributed to The Lord’s Land in the past 40 years? How many hundreds have invested a week, a month, or a year of their life to make this Land what it is? It’s no wonder so many people care so deeply for this place. For them, coming here is like coming home.
Since YWAM took over stewardship of The Lord’s Land, many long-time friends and contributors believed everything was going to change. They thought Sabine’s Legacy of community and volunteering would be lost forever.
We’re happy to report that this is simply NOT the case. We welcome hard workers to visit our community! Besides, contrary to popular belief, YWAM has no corporate funding to pay for salaries or projects. With a small staff and big needs, we simply cannot do it alone.
What about you?
Are you looking for a place to serve? To put your skills to work? Whether you’ve helped out here before or not, we’ve got a spot for you! Our four new RV spots are fully functional and ready for summer volunteers who can bring RV’s, and a limited number of cabins will be available for those who can’t.
There are thousands of traveling servants around the US and Canada (many of them retired) who look for temperate locations where they can come, park their RV, and use their skills to advance a meaningful cause. Some are with organizations like Mission Builders and Sowers, and some are freelancers like John and Mary Gamlowski, our personal heroes. Their common bond is their availability and heart to serve.
If you are one of those faithful saints, we invite you to consider The Lord’s Land. This is a beautiful place where it never gets too hot or too cold. Summer days are sunny, and high temperatures are in the 70’s. And since we’re training and sending Christian missionaries into all the world to share the love of Christ, you can be sure you would be supporting a worthy cause.
What you can expect
No one at the Lord’s Land receives a salary or remuneration of any kind. We are all either long term missionaries or short term volunteers. We can offer you a place to stay while you are working with us but you’ll have to provide your own food.
Your first two weeks with us will be a trial period during which we both (you and us) can evaluate whether we are right for each other at this time. From that time we will consider you a short term volunteer. Ordinarily, volunteers work with us for up to 3 months.
We begin each work day with an hour of prayer at 8:00, and work until 5:00 with a lunch hour somewhere in between. We all pitch in to do whatever needs to be done. We clean cabins for guests, we maintain our 28 acre property, do laundry, chop firewood, unclog drains…. As we have the skills and materials available, we try to do some needed upgrades on the cabins.
Spiritual Community Life
Every once in a while, we host our own seminars and retreats at the Lord’s Land. This Spring, we held 5 such events, including a youth retreat, a series of nightly meetings during Passion Week, and a weekend seminar on the Father Heart of God. In addition, we host a community open-house every Tuesday evening. Believers (and a few seekers) from various Churches come here for a potluck, teaching, and worship. We generally have around 40 in attendance during summer months.
We encourage every member of our community to come to these events, and to attend a local Church on a weekly basis. We will also pair you up with a staff person who can offer spiritual support and accountability.

So what do you think? Are you interested? If so, download an application today.
Please return the application and give the reference to a pastor or spiritual leader with whom you’ve worked closely. (Mail them, or fax them to 707-937-3707.) Please be praying about this step and we’ll be doing the same. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us by calling 707-937-5700 or by emailing us at ywam@lordsland.org.
